Drinking soft drinks while eating healthy...is that terribly bad, or just a little worse than drinking water? I've read somewhere that soft drinks are 90% water. If so, are they all that worse than drinking water? (I hate drinking water, I don't know why)

The sugar in the drinks, amongst other ingredients, are not going to help you. Switch over to diet at least, and try green tea, and do sneak water in. Our bodies are 70% water.
Helps clean and renew.

It depends on how often and how many whether it will be a serious issue or not, but they're much worse than water. About 150 calories of sugar and no nutritional content.

Remember one thing though, any water that is used in any bought beverage, wether it be juices, sodas, etc, has been filtered to the point where there is no nutritional value left in the water. Good old water is the best source.

Semerson, O.J., is better than regular soda, but it does contain alot of carbs. Try adding a litle crystal light (orange flavour if you want to water), it's your best bet.

OJ does have nutrients, but most the most part is empty calories. jcannuck is right, stick with water and add a little flavor for your best bet. (avoid refined sugar at all cost!)

Asking if drinking soda/soft drinks is "terribly bad" is looking for rationalization that they aren't. The bottom line is your goals. The more serious you are about reaching your goals, the more sacrifices you are willing to make to reach them. If you ask enough people, you will eventually find someone who will give you the answer you want to hear....but, I think you really know the answer. Are you serious about your goals, or not?

semerson52, fruit juice is reputed to be good for you. It is, it has Vit. C, fiber from the pulp, some have calcium added, so for these nutrients they advertise it as great. But, if you are trying to lose fat seriously, then this is the story. It is extremely high in fructose. Fructose whether from soda or juice is processed exactly the same by the body. Fructose tops off liver glycogen, which is storage for a later date. This is rarely ever needed, maybe marathon runners/endurance athletes, someone doing tons of cardio. Anyway, when liver glycogen is full, guess what happens, spillover! So, if fat loss is your goal, I do not recommend juice, if you do, make it first thing in the morning only, and small amounts.
