I think you are actually better off with a bench and free weights.
Equipment is made for average ixe men, it doesn't always adjust well for smaller women or taller men.

With your height you may have to watch your form on squats and deadlifts (you probably have tight/shorter hamstrings) but I think it is better for you to learn comfortable form within your range of motion than to have it setup for you, possibly incorrectly, by a machine.
Plus, with free weights the possibilities are endless, with a machine you have a limited number of execises.

If you want some great variety from free weights without spending to much, buy some bands (bodylastics.com haS A GREAT SET, UNDER 60.00) oops. capslock, sorry.
Bands can be used to replicate a cable station and offer a different type of resistance the dumbbels or free weights.

An exercise ball is an awesome tool, as well, without busting the piggy bank. Look at Balldynamics.com, if you decide to order one, make sure you check the height chart you need the right size ball. Exercise ablls can double as a bench (and you work your core while using it), an ab exerciser, many many things you can do with it.

A jump rope is another inexpensive tool you can get a great warm-up or do intervals, though at 6'5 you may have to jump rope in the backyard...

That is just my opinion.. have fun!
