Nope, do not lower your weights. This is an invitation to a quick muscle loss. Your diet is what will get you ripped. Your body will not try to retain muscle it does not need. It is an extra burden it has to maintain as it is.:dumbbell::big_smile:

You can continue with your same workout, no need to change. The key is a calorie deficit...read my lips...calorie deficit. This and only this will tap into your fat stores. Whether you get it from cardio or cutting calories or both, it doesn't matter. The process matters, doing it intelligently so you don't have a large loss of lean tissue. This means approach it easily, no more than 200-250 calories per day till weight loss stops, then proceed again.

he means to Cut your Caloric intake BY 200-250, not to only take in 250 cals a day. So if your currently at say 2500/day, well reduce to say 2250 and go until the weight loss stops, and then reduce by another 200-250.

To elaborate, it all matters. Your diet, your weight training and your cardio. Everything has to be going smoothly in order to achieve the best results. You can't just focus more on one area than the other. As a trainer myself, I find your trainers' "advice" just careless. Good luck though.
