Multigym Purchase - which one?

Thinking of buying a multigym for my house. Can anyone recommend any godd ones?

I've looked around and found all of them lacking in some area. I'd recommend just an incline/flat/decline bench with maybe a few bells & whistles (leg curl/extension, preacher curl pad, lat pulldown) and some freeweights.:dumbbell:

Check out what you need and what you want it to do before you buy it. Most don't have enough weight on them for decent progress. Say the stack you get is 90 kg.. So how will you make progress on your legs? What do you do when you can bench the 90k ? Wouldn't benching a barbell or dumbbell be better for you as the coordination factor with free weights, exercises muscles you didn't know you had? Lat pull downs are ok but training to lift your own body is better than a machhine...

So add up what you really need in weight, progress, versatility. A good gym membership may be better, unless you can afford there equipment.

I purchashed a "Powertec multistation workbench" for about $1050 last year. It is very good in terms of safety(lifting without a spotter)and gaining some strength and tone. But, now i am going to buy a power-rack with safety spotters because the machines, while good just didnt give me the size i was accustomed to with free weights. So, of you want size go with the power rack, if you want tone/convenience/safety then go with the power-tec machine

treeny - look at the post tall guy with equipment question - basically the same question as yours.
Go with free weights and bands and an exercise ball or bench (or both, still cheaper than a multi-station).
I have worked with many people in their homes who purchased mutli-stations before hiring me. I would train them on their statins and supplement by bringing dumbbells and an exercise ball. Guess who bought dumbbells and exercise balls and wished they hadn't wasted all that dough on a machine? You have more variety with free weights and it is harder becaus eyou have to stabilize and do all of the work. It is also easier on the pocket book. An olympic set of free weights 9which you probably don't need yet) is around $300.
Dumbbells range from 99 cents - 1.50 a lb, start with some 5's, 8's, 10's and 12's and purchase heavier as you ned them.
