So which is better if you are short on time...opt for a cardio session or do a scaled down version of your weight program?

How much time? try a circuit program where you move from exercise to exercise without stoping three times, that is lifting and cardio combined. (chest press, to squats, to pull downs to deadlifts to shoulder press to leg ext. to biceps curl to leg curl to calf raise to triceps kickback. repeat 3 times)

I usually only spend about 45 minutes on my workout from the time in the door to the time out of the door.

Today I only have about thiry and that is going to be pushing it. I can try the circuit thing and see how it goes.
