i just raed a post which scared me a little. i have been lifting weights at home for about a year, i have put on a stone of what seems to be muscle and not fat. when i lift i just lift then stop with not cardio, all i do is stretch. is this dangerous?!?!?!

I dont see a problem with not doing cardio. If your goal is just to build muscle mass and not increase your over all fitness then just lift. What post said not doing cardio is dangerous?

Not warming up and not cooling down can be dangerous, but i think with weight lifting you are probably cooling down in between sets and during your stretching afterwards.
Pre-workout you need a general warmup of some type of low intensity cardio, 5-10 (until you break a sweat lightly) and then your specific muscle movement warmup, which i find more beneficial as I get older.
