Tim its a good Practice to Warm up and Cool down after physical activity. Usually Cardio for say 5-15 min is a good warm up, followed by light stretching.

After your workout, you can again do some light Cardio, or this is when I will do my Main cardio, So I do anywhere from 30-50 min of Cardio. This is when you want to do a Good Stretch, and try to improve Flexability.

For warm up - I like to grab one of my aerobic tapes & do their warm-up. SInce I work-out at home that is easy for me to do.

For a cool down if the weather is nice, I'll walk around the block & then do some stretches or some yoga

I do a 5 minute run before hand, and then strech, or vice versa, takes me about 15 minutes. Cool down is about the same, and the 5 minute run is at around 40 - 60% (5.5mph on the treadmill)
