Hi
I would like to know if you can drink to much water during your work-out. A friend told me that you can actually drink to much and it is not good for you.
Is this true ?

Cheers

if you drink so much that you can't hold it in anymore, then that's definately not good for you. Aside from that, I have no clue.

There is a point when one can ingest to much water...i forget the scientific term...but it plays with your levels of sodium and potassium i believe...otherwise do drink plenty of water...but to get to this type of "water poisoning" you would have to drink buckets of water and clamp your main vein.

Hyponatremia, which the dictionary defines as sodium deficiency, is too much water. We're talking significant amounts (gallons), far more than any human being is likely to ingest. Distance runners and those living in very warm/dry climates are the most likely to suffer from this condition.

Well reading this thread I came to realize that I'd probably be drinking too much water a day! During my workout I usually dring around 20 oz of water, and during the rest of the day I might be drinking around 56 oz... I guess that is A LOT...

Should I be drinking less water?

No,burrocfh that is not a lot. Most people hear try to drink at least a gallon a day. Now if you get up to the 5 gallon a day mark miost likely you will become hydrocephallic and die.
