When I lift heavy (low reps) I do good for about 2-3 weeks and then I seem to go backwards. It's as if my strength decreases and my motivation drops. I take a week off and go back and it's back up and I usually have an awesome week in all workouts. I don't really like or want to take off every 3 or 4 weeks. I've heard people talk about light days/heavy days. Should I work hard (high weight/low reps) for 2 weeks and then go light (low weight/high reps) for a week? Actually I would rotate muscle groups. Is this method something that is utilized by anyone? If so, provide some feedback. Also is there a term used to describe this method? If so, I can search it out. Thanks

I think maybe you are wearing yourself out - try lifting lighter weight, higher reps (12) once a week and heavy the other days, rotate which muscle group gets the lighter day each week. I think that should help. I don't know if there is a term for this kind of cycle - anyone??
