gain msucle lose fat

i am still a thin guy but have made some nice gains over the last year but over the christmas period i went for 3 months without working out and i ate and drank too much and put on a bit of fat.
i have started to really get back into weights/exercise and want to know if i can put on muscle and lose a little bit of fat. i work out with weights 3 times a week and go for a 30 minute run on my days off or play tennis(except sundays)
so is this possible or is it much more realistic to bulk up and then lose the fat later?

If you bulk up and then lose the fat later you might also lose quite a lot of muscle. Eat right train right and you will get what you want. How many pounds are you? How old are you?? Give us some more info so we can help you better. I don't think that you can put on muscle and lose fat- but if you can prove me wrong someone!!!! Well of course you can put on muscle and lose fat!! There's a program specifically for it here.. resistance training to build muscle combined with cardio and nutrition to lose fat.

Build a workout that includes weight training 3-4 days a week, and cardio daily (maybe step it up to High Intensity Interval Training on your off days), and track everything you eat.. pay attention to when you eat what so that you are feeding your muscles and burning the fat.

Plenty of threads here that go into that, do a few searches and you'll find all the answers you need here.
