Here is a few tips to get you going. They are listed in no real order. Follow them or not they are what I feel should be done. Again each of us is different that needs to be taken in to account. First is to make sure you are healthy enough to start a program. So if this is the first exercise routine etc go to a doc to make sure it is safe. Second is to get the right clothing....nice loose cotton shorts etc are the best. A good pair of shoes are key as well. I like Nike ACG because at 300 they last the longest and offer the best support. Third is gym choice. A lot of talk between home vs gym. It is your choice but I like a gym it offers me motivation to go. Next is your goals these are very important as they will help you actually progress. Mine are strenght related. I want to deadlift 500+ and also to lose 14% bf. Make small reachable ones plus harder ones as well. Then research what you plan to do. Read everything and ask questions. Finally for this post (maybe more tips to follow) one thing that MUST be done. Is that if you are lifting weightsof any kind use Good FORM!

Thanks Mutt.... I agree with everything and especially about the form... probably the most important thing of all...

I've learned if you lift too much weight, your form might be off... a couple of the exercises I've done I've dropped the weights and done them with nothing just to remind myself of the form... seems to work and sometimes I feel I get a better workout because of that.. dunno if I'm dreaming or not, but it seems to be real to me!

For me, a goal is to stay healthy and be fit and feel comfortable walking around without a shirt...

And research, research, research... the three keys!

Whatever the goals are, they have to be realistic and attainable...

Good Post mutt but I disagree on the sneaks . New balance all the way. The new b's take the beating my 365lbs self puts on them lol. And they come in width 4e, so when are you going to be a moderator?
