I am a male and i'm 13 years old 5'2 and 97 pounds. I am looking towards losing weight but i'm also looking towards gaining muscle mass. Should i lose the weight first?? or should i lose weight and still train with weights????

at 97 lbs you want to loose weight. Your only 13 my friend I dont think you need to worry about lossing any weight. Hit the weights hard but take it easy your still growing

At 13, unless you are obese, just train hard and eat smart. You will develop nicely. Throw some cardiovascular exercise in with the weights, good to develope your cardiovascular health at this age also. You should make some great gains with your developing testosterone.

The only problem is my waist. It's 28 inches. I really want to lose an inch on that part!!!

Um, if you're 5'2" you should really weigh 110 lbs... So you're under weight right now.
Besides, you're 13. By the time you reach 20, all the babyfat will be gone.

Stay active, stay away from McDonalds, and you will be fine. Your metabolism will boost, and you will shed fat and get leaner and more muscular. Try to eat 5 times per day, nice balanced meals, and this will help rev metabolism. The good healthy habits you learn now will stick with you the rest of your life!
