Incline dumbell flyes or incline dumbell presses? I was reading Arnold's encyclopedia and he says the incline flyes are for mass. Is this true i thought flyes were for sculpting.

Do both Justin, they are both conducive to your goals.

guess it depends on the individual lol arnold could do more and take more than a normal person lol Good genetics and a awsom bone and muscle structure made up his body, maybe flys to him made more mass than incline bench was..........i have said this before may times, everyone is different.........for me flys are for sculpting and shpe not for mass, what they do for me might not do for u

I have found through my body building experience, that building mass, is in part alot of different routines. It is sort of like a shock to the system, when you do different routines, such as incline, flat bench, etc... If you stick with the same routine over and over again your muscles get sort of used to it and will not respond. Try and break it it up. Not just routine, but weights as well, try lighter weights one week, and heaver the next.

Arnold did VERY heavy flies, and of course we know that heavy weight can be associated with mass gains. Arnold was juicing...just remember that. He is in another dimension. lol Got to hit the chest from different angles...inclin, flat, decline. Gotta go heavy for a couple of sets for each with reps between 6-8 for the heavy sets...this is basic but a good starting point.

Flyes hit your pecs more since there is a greater range of motion. It's good to warm up (and end chest workout) with these using light to moderate weights, but every once in a while, going heavy is beneficial.

I find going heavy hampers my range of motion and I use my front delts more, I feel like my shoulder is gonna pop off.......what rep range do You concider " heavy" cause i stay over 10 maybe 8 if i'm feeling daring lol

well, if you go heavy and can do more than 6-8, then i'd say you go heavier and aim for those 6-8...
