Breakfast
Crispix
16oz water w/ vitamin E pill
Lunch
Tortilla with chicken and cheese wrapped inside
Fettucini (sp?)

Just had a snack ate a bowl of baby carrots.

What you think so far? It is only my 1st day bad or am I going good?

For my other small meal I will probably have some tuna w/ crackers or something.

Im wanting to build as much muscle as possible is this food im eating going to be ok?

Aside from my protein shakes I plan to only consume light colored meats such as chicken/fish/ham/turkey the ham and turkey will probably be sliced like lunch meat stuffed in a pita no bread for me.

Feel free to make any comments. Thanks

Is this all you ate for the entire day.

Did you have milk with your cereal.

I forget sometimes that I am here in Kuwait where it is 1200 midnight.

Did you have milk with your cerea? You must add it also if you did. If you didn't you need to add some kind of protein. Try adding a few egg whites.

I hope that cheese was low fettuchine can also be oveloaded with calories and fat. Was this homemade or prepackaged? I would have eaten 2 chicken and cheese wraps and saved the fettichine for another meal. It would be great with almost any kind of meat. I find salmon to be the most pleasing.

Yes I did have milk w/ the cereal. The fettucine was pre-packaged :( I looked on the label it didnt have a whole lot of fat. I also did have 2 chicken wraps w/ cheese.

Basically for lunch I had

2-Chicken wraps w/ cheese
1-serving of fettucine (about 2 cups)
16oz water

By the way it just turned 4pm

Im not really sure enough to make gains though. I caved in already though had some of my mom's homemade beef stew :( Diets suck. But I suppose the meat that was in it was better then hamburgers.

You need protein. Your diet sucks. Crispix will get you nowhere. To design a proper bodybuilding diet, you need to set your calorie range. A macro range of 30/50/20, or 40/40/20, p/c/f are good for gaining. Set these macros to your calorie range, and this is the way to go about a diet. You need protein with each meal, consume 5-6 meals per day. Your body cannot store protein, you need to give it ample supplies, or if it needs amino acids for any reason it has nowhere to get them(as the essential aminos are not produced by your body), but to rob lean muscle tissue for them.

bb1fit-Thank you for laying it to me. What would you suggest a breakfast food? Am I eating the wrong thing w/ the whole chicken thing???? Some whole meal samples would be delighted and helpful.

Try this type of a menu

Meal 1..starchy fibrous carb source, lean protein source,

Meal 2..complex carb, lean protein, fibrous veggie

Meal 3...complex carb, lean protein, fibrous veggie, a little healthy fats

Meal 4...lean protein, fibrous carbs, healthy fats

Meal 5...lean protein, fibrous carbs, healthy fats

Have a post workout shake, and use this diet scheme as an "outline". If you are gaining, you can play a bit, if trying to burn fat, then stick pretty close. set your calorie amount, and plug the macros I gave you in the above post into fit the diet.

I would check BB1's bodybuilder grocery list in another thread. I had the same questions that you did last week and found that post to be very, very helpful.

It seems for me diet is the hardest part of the 3 headed fitness monster. I eat well, but I always end up about 1200 calories short of what I am supposed to eat each day.

I wouldn't recommend working 2 large, upper body muscle groups on the same day. Working chest and back will get you a good arm workout, but may not do anything for your back and/or chest. You could, however, work your chest and tris on the same day, as well as your back and bis. Remember, work your large muscle groups first, then your smaller ones.

Thanks everyone....Just checked bb1's grocery list I picked up some of the items already. Today I have consumed a huge mass amount of chicken in all and for breakfast I had 2 egg whites/cereal (crispix) 16oz water. I realize it isnt enough but I had a huge upset stomach and plan to usually eat around 3-4 egg whites to go. But today including my protein shake I have reached around 150-160 grams of protein (mind you I only weight at 150). Another question is it ok to work the back and the chest on the same day? I knocked my workout down to 4 days instead of 5 working out monday-tuesday-thursday-friday.

Another question are potato skins w/ cheese and bacon bad for you?

I would like to thank everyone in this post ;)

Good post Robert....I totally agree. The back is a huge muscle group, and in order to hit it like it should be it takes a workout by itself or with a smaller muscle group. I like to targe back/shoulders, that way I tie in the rear delts and traps, which actually can be done with either.

Split your Monday and Tuesday workout (i.e. Back/Bis on Monday, Chest/Tris on Tuesday, etc.). Also, you don't have any exercises targeting triceps! You may want to include some lying extensions, pushdowns and close-grip benches. These are excellent for mass.

Another good tricep exercise you might want to try out.. which is a variation of the db kickback.. is this cable kickback. I did it today for the first time and it totally beat my tri's to a pulp. Don't forget, you want to exercise your muscle groups in different orders sometimes in your day to day workouts to give each one a chance to be hit harder and bring the fatigue into other groups.
