i need help with height!

Now, buy some 50 lb. dumbbells and strap one onto each ankle. Tie a rope across the rod to support you around your chest, and hang like that for increasing lengths of time. You will have to work your way up to more and more time....(sorry, couldn't resist ;.}} -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything....
bigandrew Posts: 5,146 Joined: 2002/10/21	2004/01/05, 09:48 PM sorry man.......but height is genetic mostly, except for a few people lo......... equation i found was add the height of ur mom and dad together in inches.......didide by 2.......then if ur a guy add 6 in, or a girl subtract 4 i think...........somthing liek that its in a magizine i can look it up if u want my mom is 65 in tall + my dad 73 in = 138in/2 + 69 ins + 6 = 75 in or 6ft 2.25........i'm 6ft one and i'm 20 so thats pretty damn close........ thi sis just a estimated thing lol not actually truth, but there is always exceptions.... micheal jordan is 6'6" and no one in his family is over 6' so who knows no math equation is completly perfect -------------- ---andrew.......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records!
	2004/01/06, 11:19 AM bb1....you reminded me of the episode of Diffrent Strokes where Arnold hung from the bar in his closet for hours trying to get taller. We all know how Gary Coleman turned out.....so forget about height, follow your dreams, and maybe one day you too can run for Governor of California!

bigandrew Posts: 5,146 Joined: 2002/10/21	2004/01/07, 12:18 AM unless they broke ur bones and put metal in them or somthing that would be the only way//...........as for hormons and crap stay away from them..............in ur bones u have somthig called a growth plate, its an area of cartliage that the body uses to let u grow during adolancense........when u get to your 20s is calicifies9 turn to bone) once they are calacified thats it they r bone they don't revert back........so if u take say human growth hormone, or anyother groth hormone........yes it will cause u to grow, but only in the areas that have cartlage( ears, nose, fingers, toes) then ur in worse of hsape than just being short...........i say be thankfull for what the good lord gave you and be happy..................hell think about it most body builders don't get much taller than 6'...........lee priest is liek 5'4 and hes got like 22 in biceps i wouldn't mind having 22in biceps..........shorter stocker guys have advantages, short legs make it easiier to squat. deadlift and clean...............shorts arms are great for bench pressing..........hell powerlifts is preety much a short stocky guys best dream to be in.........so be thankfull for what u have..............bone breaking and putting screws in people are for the realy crippled and people who need it don't waste ur money on somthing just cause u wanna be taller because of ur ego.......hell i think everyone would love to be 6'6' lol hell iknwo i would i be a scary dude.... but we all have differnt heights for a reason........so give thanks it could always be worse! -------------- ---andrew.......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records! 	2004/01/12, 02:23 PM Probably just a typo on the height, but I think you're referring to Dante Hall, who's only 5'8". That reminds me of some of the good small players the NBA has seen in recent memory. Muggsy Bouges (5'3") and Spud Webb (5'7") each had long careers, with Spud winning the Slam Dunk competition in 1986. Even now, Earl Boykins (5'5") is one of the most dangerous scorers in the league, making much larger defenders look ridiculous. In the NFL, Doug Flutie is realistically about 5'7" or 5'8"....the list goes on. One your growth plates have harneded you are done growing. There is a very long pain full procedure where they break your leg bones and put screws in their to spred the bone. The screws then need to be tightend every week I believe as they heel to cause more bone growth. -------------- I am that which must be feared, worshipped and adored. As the others have said once the growth plates are calcified your done on the long bones (I am pretty sure about that). Those giants that keep growing in thier twenties and thirties due to hormone or genetic disorders never calcify the growth plates. If you or I start taking HGH our bones will grow, but thicker not taller. HGH has to be used during adolescence or younger.
