Hi guys Happy New Year !!!!!!

I have a few questions of questions, this is for my cousin he`d like to know:
1. what courses need to be completed in order to become a certified fitnes instructor ? both in Canada and US
2. What are the most popular types (TaeBo,Hi/Lo combo,steep ,push&pump) ?
3. How much is it paying for a starter, do you think there`s a need ?

1)Don't know about Canada, but in the US you can get the ACE Group Fitness Instructor Manual, study it and take a test. They also offer practical workshops.

2)Right now Bodypump is big, as are fusion classes that combine different things like Yoga and Pilates and the BOSU is still hanging in there. Kickboxing sems to be making a comeback, too. I think there is still a big step class following at most clubs.
3) I am not sure how Group Fitness Instructors get paid, some clubs it is a flat fee with a percentage added according to attendance numbers. Do you mean is there a need for instructors or for certification?
I think certification is neccesary. I also believe that a motivating and exciting instructor is needed at every lub - some clubs will have 5-10 instructors, but maybe one or two really rock and their classes are packed all of the time, so there is definitely a need for some great instructors!
