What are the advantages by doing bench press at an incline? I dont disagree with them just curious to find out.

Even though the pectoral muscle is one major muscle, the incline bench will place more emphasis on the upper portion of the muscle. I work the incline more often because the upper portion of my chest needs it most. However, I make sure to mix it up and hit the muscle at all angles.
Good luck!

u have read somewhere on this sight or in a book, i think someone posted it a while back that the incline presses and flys actually recruit more muscle fibers( specially dumbells do to the stretch)but both are still good excercises so use both....one week start out flat bench, then do incline, next week flip them so u get the best of both worlds

hey bigandrew, I have heard that about the decline bench also. Not many people include it in their workouts, but I keep hearing that you should. It is hard to get positioned to do it with dumbells unless yo have someone to hand them to you, but I have found the Smith machine great for these.

Yeah AZREDHEAD...Declines recruit more muscle fibers. Everyone's best bet is to hit the chest at all different angles.
