Since everyone's goals, tastes, and budgets are somewhat different, finding complete meal plans are somewhat problematic. About the closest you can get is to search the message boards, compile the info, and mix and match what best suits your individual needs. Even then you will probably end up having to do the math. The advantage to that is that you will be getting a nutritional education which will probably benefit you in the long run. Here is a list of good foods to choose from courtesy of a very knowledgeable fellow by the name of bb-1 fit (pay attention to his posts-he has quite a bit of experience on the subject). Unfortunately, you cannot spot reduce. Clean your diet up, implement and maintain a good exercise regimen and that 'meat' will slowly but surely disappear. Here's the list and good luck.
PROTEINS Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast Tuna (water packed) Fish (salmon, seabass, halibut) Shrimp Extra Lean Ground Beef or Ground Round (92-96%) Venison Buffalo Ostrich Protein Powder Egg Whites or Eggs Ribeye Steaks or Roast Top Round Steaks or Roast (aka Stew Meat, London Broil, Stir Fry) Top Sirloin (aka Sirloin Top Butt) Beef Tenderloin (aka Filet, Filet Mignon) Top Loin (NY Strip Steak) Flank Steak (Sir Fry, Fajita) Eye of Round (Cube Meat, Stew Meat, Bottom Round , 96% LeandGround Round) Ground turkey, Turkey Breast Slices or cutlets (fresh meat, not deli cuts) COMPLEX CARBS Oatmeal (Old Fashioned or Quick Oats) Sweet Potatoes Yams Beans (pinto, black, kidney) Oat Bran Cereal Rye Cereal Brown Rice Farina (Cream of Wheat) Multigrain Hot Cereal Whole wheat or Spinach Pasta Rice (white, jasmine, basmati, Arborio, wild) Potatoes (red, baking, new) FIBROUS CARBS Green Leafy Lettuce (Green Leaf, Red, Leaf, Romaine) Broccoli Asparagus String Beans Spinach Bell Peppers Brussels Sprouts Cauliflower Cabbage Celery Cucumber Eggplant Green or Red Pepper Onions Pumpkin Garlic Tomatoes Zucchini FRUIT (if acceptable on diet): bananas, apples, grapefruit, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, lemons or limes HEALTHY FATS Natural Style Peanut Butter Olive Oil or Safflower Oil Nuts (peanuts, almonds Flaxseed Oil DAIRY AND EGGS Low-fat cottage cheese Eggs Low or Non-Fat Milk Bottled Water CONDIMENTS & SPICES Diet Soda Crystal Light Fat Free Mayonnaise Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce Reduced Sodium Teriyaki Sauce Balsamic Vinegar Salsa Hot Peppers and Hot Sauce Chili powder Mrs. Dash Steak Sauce Sugar Free Maple Syrup Chili Paste Mustard Extracts (vanilla, almond, etc ) Low Sodium beef or chicken broth Plain or reduced sodium tomatoes sauce, puree, paste) |

80lbs in 7 months wow go you lol, but i do have to say if ur working out and watching what u eat, i doubt u will need to lose that much weight, i have played and toyed with my weight alot and i used to have an eating disorder, took a full year to get over it too.....thing is if u get leaner( add muscle) that will burn fat and take up less space than the fat does........5 lbs of fat looks abotu like a big roll or tolet paper while 5 lbs of muscle looks liek a bar a soap.......11 lbs in a month is alot and i'm nto saying u can't do it either but don't push ur self too hard liek i did and be worse off and weaker than when u started out at.......some oen once told me..."would u rather be 10 lbs lighter and feel liek shit",or be 10 lbs heaver and feel good, and stron? just think about that-------------- ---andrew.......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records! |

Andrew...we don't know what her weight is at this point. If she wants to lose 80 lbs. I would assume she's pretty over-weight in which case losing 80 lbs in 7 months is not far reaching. Breakinout, what is your current weight? The heavier you are, the more weight you can lose in a shorter period of time without adverse effects...but we're talking obese, not just a few pounds over-weight.(example: if one weighed 320 lbs and had 40%bfc, after one week of eating healthy and moderate exercise, they can drop as much as 10 pounds, healthy. BUT, a person who weighs 220lbs with 16-18%bfc won't lose that much weight in that period of time, unless it was done in an UNHEALTHY way...got my drift?) If you weighed 180 lbs, THEN I wouldn't suggest shooting for losing 80 lbs by July. -------------- May the lift be with you. |

Thanks for all of the info. at this point i will eat things that i may not like that are healthy for me just to make my goal. My current weight is 227. not sure on the bfc but im sure it is high since i have not really done a whole lot in these 31 years that warranted lots of muscle. Actually my suggested goal weight according to 'tables' and such is 137. i would be looking sick at that weight so 147 ish is seems good to me. I see that muscle is more than fat and im excited to see what that is like! Can anyone tell me why i should be eating 6 meals a day at a total of 3600 calories?

Converting food to energy that the body can use via digestion requires energy. Quite a bit as a matter of fact. Therefore, you are burning more calories by this process more often. Also, by consuming smaller meals there is less left over for fat storage (your body can only process so much food at a given amount of time). Finally you avoid the dreaded insulin spike if you maintain a constant stream of nutrients (causing hunger, decreased energy). It really revs up your metabolism. Make sure to keep your meals fairly balanced p/c/f.

Suggestion...losing 80 pounds in seven months at 227 would be unhealthy unless you were about 5 feet tall. What "tables" are you getting this info from? and if these tables are from supplement companies pushing a product, don't follow that. Best bet is to go to your physician and get a check-up on overall health, see what he/she has to say about your weight. If not, a certified nutritionist can give you good input as well. Alot of factors come into play here, such as height, age, body type, genetics. Those "tables" don't take these things into consideration and can throw you off. -------------- May the lift be with you. |
