I had ask a question before but nobody answered. I was wondering if someone could help me on this one, (since I'm new to this). How much rest do your muscles need between workouts. I am asking this because I am following ft trainers daily workout an it would seem to me that I should be working out a muscle more than once a week. For example instead of doing biceps on monday maybe do them on monday and thursday.
Ft trainers worhout for my biceps is,
4 Sets of standing Barbell Curl
4 Sets Concetration Curl
It switches up from week to week, but its about 8 sets a week. All help is greatly appreciated. I Thank You in advance.

You can work major muscle groups more than once and week but one error many people make is to work the ego muscles to the point where it's counter-productive. You may only be working your biceps and triceps in isolation once a week but they are also being worked in conjuction with the major workouts for chest and/or back.

If after at least 2-3 months your growth stops, working a muscle group twice a week for a few weeks is a good way to jump start growth. As for normal training if you feel that after a work out you can still do that same group again later that week, I would look at either the sets and or weight plus the intensity at which you are lifting. No offense meant here but most people that say they are lifting as hard and heavy as they can really have no idea what that means(My self included, it took me years to own up to that). That said if you think you arms can handle it add some weight(still using good form if you form is bad you need to lower the weight), and or sets and really blast them. I know after a workout I will not be able to use them again for 5-7days. Hope this helps!
