Hello all!

I have a question... I've been working out in the morning for 3 weeks now, doing weight training and cardio. I'm doing the high intesity interval training (recumbant bike), along with using my Nautilus home gym. Anyway, I know I'm getting stronger and my endurance is increasing, but I feel like I'm getting fatter. I've been eating about the same (not the best I may add) before I started working out again, but I wasn't gaining weight prior to be starting to work out again.

Also, when I wake up in the morning, my face and hands are swollen. I never had that problem before. Could it be that I'm not drinking enough water?

Just for stats, I'm 6'6" and weigh 335lbs. When I loose 50-60 lbs, I'll be slim (to give you an indication of my build type.)

Anyway, I'm not too concerned about the gaining weight part, I guess that is expected, but I'm more concerned about my face and hands swelling up when I wake up. That is weird.

Any advice or comments would be appreciated!!!!

As of yesterday, about 1/2 gal. per day. (I know, I know.) :) Before then, hardly any. I work work out at 5:30am, then drink a 24oz bottle of Gatorade or water. Dang, when I think about it, I haven't been drinking hardly any water. In total, I was probably drinking 3-4 glasses per day.

I was told to drink 1 gal. before, but since I wasn't really working out a lot, it seemed that I was able to get away with drinking less.

How much do you drink per day?

Yesterday I drank 1.5gallons. Most days at least a gallon. One thing to consider is how much salt/sodium you intake per day....I would drop the gatorade....also what are you eating. If you make a change in your diet like cutting salt and drinking and the swelling is still there consider going to a doc since it could be a medical problem...

Thanks for the advice. Already I feel better, just from drinking more water and relieving myself. I'll watch the sodium, I know that was kinda high and that will cause your body to hold onto water. I'll keep the water intake at no lower than 1 gal.

Otherwise, my body is already starting to change from the weights and cardio (my goal is to be a solid 270 lbs.)

Thanks!
