Hi Everyone, I am 16 and I weigh about 181. A little over a year ago I lost about 50 pounds and I got down to 134 from 180+. I had alot of motivation back then. I don't know what happened back then and I got to dang confident and I gained 50 pounds back back. Your thinking wtf? Yes I know it was a terrible thing to do and not care nemore and now I regret it. I would love to get back down to where I use to be. My height is 6"0 almost exactly. I got a belly and some man boobs.... lol :( . I am thinking about getting breast reduction done soon...But my real question is that the basic rule for losing weight. Like 2000 cals/day and burning more calories then you consume. I have to burn 2000 calories a day to lose one pound. Now that seems kinda unreal. Back when I lost 50 pounds. I did 30 minutes on the bike and I did about 1100 calories. I was so exhausted after that and I couldn't go on... So if I consume 2000 calories a day how the heck can I lose weight then? My diet is weird though. I eat breakfast in the morning which consists of egg whites and grapes lol or toast. Then I skip lunch at school because the crap they serve is way to unhealthy like Burgers and pizza and stuff. Then when I get home I eat a well balanced salad and thats it. I goto the gym about 4 times a week. I think my diet is really screwed up. They say you should eat 5-6 meals a day. I mean come on how can I lose weight if I eat 6 meals a day. What do these meals consist of?..Gosh I need advice lol. Ne help?

5-6 SMALL meals a day. You might consider protein shakes, bars, etc but read the ingredients carefully.
When you skip meals your body goes into 'selfish' mode and tries to store fat and burn muscle. So EAT and exercise and you'll be fine.
Last, but most important, at 16 you are WAY to young to be considering ANY surgeries.

Law thanks for your input, but I know lots of people from forums and such and they have had the surgery at like 14-18 and they haven't had any problems at all so far. But I got to burn more then 2000 calories a day? I'm confused on that part I guess. I take protein shakes and creatine before I work out and after.

skipping a meal lowers your metabolism by 15% !! crazy but true.
The way you burn calories is by existing, and by exercising. At 6' tall, 181 lbs you need about 200 calorioes a day, just to exist. Above that you add some calories for daily activities, in the end you need to expend about 200-300 calories extra a day through exercise. So if you take in 2, 300 and that is just enough to balance your everyday existence, and you expend 200 extra each day by doing weightlifting or acrdiovascular exercise, you will lose weight at a safe and managable rate.
You are 16 and have not finished growing yet, restricting your calories extremely low would not be healthy.
Eating a small, well balanced meal every 3 hours will bring your metabolism up and assure your body that you are not in famine, it will let go of some of its fat stores and build some nice active lean muscle.
The protein shakes before and after your workout count as meals, make sure they don't have a high amount of sugar, though after your workout some simple sugar is useful.
Surgery is an end-of-the-line option, try losing the weight gradually first and focus on being healthy. Get checked out by a doctor for hormonal imbalance, you may just have extra estrogen and need to explore that possibility before surgery. You also have to consider that you are 16. My husband was chubby and baby-faced until he turned 20, all of a sudden he lost a ton of weight, got huge arms and a tiny waist. He was just a late bloomer. He also did a lot of time in the weight room and switched his diet to a lean protein, complex carbohydrate based eating plan.
You can do it too.

I think the reference to surgery was a joke. At least I would hope it was.
G-unit don't worry so much about losing weight. Try losing the fat while gaining muscle, and I'll bet you will be pleased with te results. To do this follow the advice you are getting. You will probably end up about 180 pounds with a great body by the time your 17.

I think she meant 2000 calories a day. The way you lost the weight last year is part of why you gained it back so quickly. We need to eat more and more often to keep our bodies from feeling hungry and deciding to hoard fat in cases of starvation. It sounds wrong but it is very right. To lose weight and gain muscle you have to eat more.
