Hi, I am wondering if there are any baseball players out there or knowledgeable trainers that could recommend a muscle group to focus on to increase bat speed? If you have any advice whatsoever I would love to hear it. Thanks a lot.

You could employ some forearm exercises to help. Search some plyometric exercise sites and do a search here on additional forearm exercises.

Squats Quadriceps Leg strength for improved throwing
Leg Extension Quadriceps Leg strength for improved throwing
Front chin-ups and reverse-grip chin-ups Biceps, forearms, and hands Arm strength for bat speed; strengthen grip
Dumbbell dead lifts Quads, gluteus, and erectors Improved stance for defensive positioning especially (back) for catchers
Inclined bench press Pectorals, deltoids and triceps Upper-body strength for initial speed strength : throwing
T- Bar rowing Rhomboids, deltoids, lats Upper-body strength for batting power
Lat pulldowns Latissimus dorsi and biceps Upper-body strength for quickness and power
Heel raises Calves Improved base running, speed
Modified preacher curls Forearms and hands Forearm strength for better bat speed
Three Abdominal Abs Movements Improved general mobility

I used to pitch for a minor league team and we used to do some intense workouts for batting. The squats are the foundation for a good ball player. Not so heavy you hurt yourself, but high reps with a moderate weight will build the tree stumps you need to explode through the swing. Your hips and legs are very inportant in baseball so get them as strong as possible. Have you seen some guys with relatively small arms blast'em out? This is because they have good hip rotation and to get the bat around on the ball. Upper body is not as important as lower body, but should be trained to look good with your legs. If you do this you should see results in your hitting. Good hitting technique is as important as weight training. Side note: Take 50-100 dry swings per day and work on your form, and imagine seeing a ball hit the end of your bat.
