Okay, has anyone been through this? I really didn't feel like I was overtraining but all of a sudden in the past four or five weeks I've been hit with one overuse injury after another. Started w/ shoulders, then tendonitis in my elbows, then I took a week off weights to rest the shoulder and ended up with runner's knees. Took a rest week from everything, didn't even mow the grass. But the left shoulder which has never completely stopped bothering me got screwed up big time from what else? A trip to Walmart! Carrying bags! My weight, body fat is up, my weights at the gym are down, I'm terrified to run or lift anything heavy, keeping everything to the bare minimum and still my shoulder aggravates me and one of my elbows still has a pretty good twinge. I did do some light (VERY light) squats this week and some light deadlifts and my knees feel fine but I'm scared to run or do any impact cardio or even ride a bike. I'm at a loss here. Anyone advice? Just moral support? This sucks.

I know exactly how you feel, and I believe we all go through it one time or another. With me, many times in the past, as well as currently: I hit a PR for my military press in the beginning of May, took a week off (to avoid over training after 9 weeks on), and haven't even been able to come close since! My routines and diet seem all screwed up; I've been getting one injury after another, albeit minor ones, but nagging none the less. So, once again, I've taken this last week and half off of everything (lifting, supps, etc.), and will start out fresh on Monday.
My point being is this: it happens to everyone, and not just once - it's very frustrating, but it's not permanent. Take care of yourself, treat your injuries seriously, evaluate your regimen, sit back, take a deep breath, and go get 'em! I have NO doubt that will succeed once again.

I needed to hear that so bad - this has been really hard on me. I can't help but feel like I've failed somehow by letting things get to this point. I should have started listening to the cues weeks ago. Like you said, this is a good time for evaluation; even though I didn't feel like I was overtraining looking back I can see I was pushing it way too hard. Anyway, thanks for the advice; I appreciate it so much! Congrats on your PR, btw, take care!

JessicaR Rev makes very good points. Nothing I could add. He is exactly right, we all go through it. The nagging injuries happen. You will be back, take care and take it slow. Sometimes a step back is the best step we can take. Keep your mental attitude up, good diet, (do not forsake your diet just because you are not training). Muscle still needs to be fed, and will keep you lean. You will be back at it full swing shortly.

I got over a shoulder injury from training to hard myself. Every time I did the Bench press My right shoulder would start hurting real bad. I decided to take off lift upper body for 1 1/2 weeks and for the first 3 days took Eleve anti Flamatory pills 3 times a day, and for the first 1 I traded off Ice Packs and heat wraps every 4 hours for 20 minutes a peice. My shoulder has been back to normal every since.. Just step back take a break and don't give up, you will be back to your good old self in no time...

Okay, that's good news. I'm going to take it one week at a time but I'm planning on taking at least four weeks off upper body since the main problems are w/ my left shoulder and right elbow. My knees feel fine now (haven't been running) so I'm going to continue working on my lower body. I've tried taking a week off twice and that just hasn't been long enough.
So far I've been trying to keep to a good diet but it's hard to stay motivated. I think if I keep up my gym schedule and use it for legs, abs, and cardio it will make it easier to keep up my diet habits. Thanks for the advice y'all - :)
