Ok I found some sit-up bars, but I don't know which one to get. Maybe ya'll can help me out. Which one of the bars do you think I should purchase? (copy and paste the links in your browser)

You don't really need some piece of equipment to effectively do crunches. If you absolutely have to purchase something, go with a swiss ball. There are many variations of crunches you can do with it. And it is easier on your back than the floor. I got mine at Walmart for under $15.00.

What a great thing to tell him. The ball is awesome, cheap, and will greatly build your core ab strength. Plus can have so many other uses for training. Wall squats, push ups, tons of things.

It is definitely my favorite piece of equipment. I do use mine for squats and a couple different glute exercises too.

I actually own two of them, one for upstairs and one for downstairs NO EXCUSES. It really is great and I use it at the gym for a variety of exercises. I really does work on your core strength.

Amen! Love da ball! =) Does anyone else use a weight when doing crunches on the ball? I've started using a 10lb plate behind my head.. is this a good way to do weighted crunches?

DRIO, weight added is always a good idea to build abs, but be careful with it behind your head. The tendency withoug realizing it is to pull with your neck too much this way. Try putting the weight on your chest instead.

Hey thanks BB! I'll try that. I have noticed a little pull in my neck when I do them. Nothing extreme, but I'm sure your method will be better in that regard.

I have used weights with the swiss ball, like Ron said though I hold it on my chest.
