Hi, I am new to FreeTrainers, but I'm not new to working out. I signed up for the AB workout program but see that there are a lot of days of rest. I was always told that that particular muscle group could be worked on everyday, as it did not require the rest that the other muscles of your body needed. Is this just some kind of old wives tale, or can I continue as I have been? Could I be doing some kind of damage and not realize it?
I also have another question - I work out in the mornings, doing 25-35min cardio and 1 hour strength training, would it be okay to do an 1 hour session of Power Yoga that same evening? Thanks for your help
If you are doing resistance training for your abs, that is using weights, then they need to be rested to grow like any other muscle. If you want that "six pack", then resistance must be used, thus rest.
