Hi, I'm new here, how's everyone doing? :)
Anyway, something's been bugging me for the past few weeks. How come when I do my dumbell curls to work out my biceps, it seems as if it is my forearms that are growing, and my biceps are only growing in minimal proportions?
THanks in advance for all yer advice.

Sounds like a problem I had. Dumbells require more concentration to do exercises with proper form. The problem I had was that I was using too much weight and I was compensating with my forearms and not isolating the bicep. I dropped down 5 lbs on each dumbell and made sure I did the curls properly and got much better results.

Use a weight you can keep your wrist parllell with your forearm all the way throught the movement. Do not curl your wrist up to help with the movement, no matter how unconciously. You must be concious of this point throughout the whole movement. This will bring your forearm into play taking away from the bicep. Do not let your ego get in the way here. Drop the weight as necessary, and feel the bicep burn.
