I recently met a guy who said that he has started using protein powder in his diet and that it drastically curbed his appetite. He used to be a big eater and he is glad because he wants to shed a few pounds. I swears that he can get by with some fruit and veges since he is not hungry.

I never heard this about protein powder. Has anyone ever experienced this? My appetite is a problem I have trouble controlling!

I've read that that happens, but with me it's the opposite, my appetite increases, but somehow I lose weight anyway when cycling on the protein powder. I prefer NitroTech, but I've used BioChem and EAS with good results too.

From experience, no it does not.

I agree with Ron. For me, the more I work out, the hungrier I get. The protein powder is just a meal replacement and should not affect appetite.

Well, 1 hr ago I had a protein shake, can of tuna, can of sardines, and a slice of grain bread, with some broccoli (post workout meal), guess what, I'm starving and just going to have a protewin shake b4 bed! Sure doesn't curb my appetite.

Pure whey is very quickly assimilated. Can't see how it would satisfy hunger for very long.
