A friend of mine recommended taking Vitamin E supplements
I hear they help muscle repair, and ive been told it helps prevent stretch marks (a big problem i have)
Is this true?
are there other benefits of taking vitamin E? and essentially is it worth my money and time investing in it?

Hi junkrock,
Girls of your age often develop stretch marks - it's a natural part of becoming a woman, and is nothing to be ashamed of. You should be proud of who you are inside.
Best of luck...

Vit. E is an antioxidant that scavenges from essential fats and oils, including the heart; over 100% RDA. Vitamin E is fat soluble. Since free radicals have a particular affinity for fat (especially polyunsaturated fat in the nerve cells, brain cells and cell membranes), this is a vital nutrient for protection against free radical damage. It is particularly effective against the lipid peroxide radicals that attack fat. Studies show that Vitamin E deficiencies can lead to unpleasant and life threatening conditions. As far as the oils, I have heard that breaking open the gel caps and rubbing them on your stretch marks and scars and such is very beneficial. Some do it for sunburn even. I cannot attest to that part, but I can attest to how heart healthy Vit. E is. Women especially should take 800 I.U. per day. Make sure you get D-Alpha, and not DL-Alpha. Big difference in the usage of the synthetic.

Vitamin E oil is good for stretch marks. Vitamin E is good for you to take as well. I like it. I think it has a lot of benefits to it. Vitamins in general are good to take if you don't get enough of them in your regular diet.
