you should really take a look at his web site so that you are able to form a much more informed opinion. He doesn't take steroids or anything like that... please look and then post your opinion, I too am in some doubt :(

I really do not need to look but I will. There is no way a natural human without taking a drug can gain 32lbs in 12 weeks. The best gifted bodybuilders in the world struggle to gain 5 lbs of lbm in a year sometimes. If he is claiming that "anyone following my system can see fablous gains as these", then it is a hype to sell you something.

ok, but please do take a look, as I too found it quite hard to believe, but I am the same size as he was, and he has filled me with optimism. Basically he informs you of diet, how to train and the importance of rest.

Then why pay him if all he says there (I was just there) is to eat and train heavy then why pay him. I can tell you from 10 years of training that what worked for him will not work the same for others there is no magic workout ( I wish there was then I would look like Arnold). I saw this site 3 years ago with the same stories on it. I hate to say it but if his program is so good why are there not more people talking aboutit? If you really want to gain muscle...eat a lot do not worry about what just keep it as clean as you can. And lift heavy.......You can go to any doctor you want they will tell you there is no safe sane way for anyone to gain LBM like that. Again there is nothign there that says he gained all 32 in a straigth 12 weeks or when the pics were taken......But if you feel it is worth it pay him the money and please keep me updated. I gained 14 lb of muscle in 3 months and I gain easily.....hope this helps you out.

Ok. I read this site. A few observations I have:

He says he does not have good genetics and he was not athletic. The before picture sure has a lot of definition for someone who was just an average skinny non-athletic guy. Look at the before picture biceps & thighs closely. And if he was not athletic, how does he explain his martial arts training that he talks about later?

He says he was not allowed to participate in baseball because he was too thing in high school. That before picture looks to me like someone who played sports of some kind.

He worked out 2 hours per day every day and eight years later he looked the same? Do you really believe that?

During his search for techniques that were proven to increase muscle mass and he found “incredible” information. If he found all of this information just from searching on his own, why hasn’t millions of others who have searched for this information found it as well? What do I think? They have found it. I’ll explain in a bit.

He says, “Training to lose fat requires different methods than training to gain muscle. Losing fat involves eating a low calorie diet, while building muscle requires a higher calorie diet.” What I’m confused about is that his profile shows he DID lose body fat as well. Yet, he says he was training to gain lean body mass. So if they require different training, then how’d he do both at the same time? Personally, I think the training is the same. It is the DIET that is different based on your goals.

He says, “This is a point that most hardgainers don't realize -- if you want to get bigger and gain more muscle, you will have to deal with the fact that you will also gain some additional body fat. Period. This is due to the high calorie diet you must eat to build more mass.” My eyes are bugging out here. If this is true, then why does his profile show a significant lost of body fat%????

He says, “The most effective way for hardgainers to build a large amount of muscle mass quickly is to focus on gaining the weight first, then later on, go on a short-term fat loss diet to lower your body fat levels.” Does this mean he gained 32lbs of weight without worrying if it was fat and then lost that excess fat after the fact and accomplished all of that in 12 weeks (3months)?

He does have some valid points that I believe are true. If you don't eat correctly while weight training, you WILL lose muscle tissue. To build muscle you must eat the right foods in the right quantities. If you are not getting at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, then you will not gain muscle, period.
Eat six meals a day. Supplements don't make the program, they are only there to help you. The best way to gain muscle mass quickly is to use free weights. Free weights make you support the weight along the entire path of the movement, which helps to stimulate more muscle fibers, while also strengthening smaller/weaker muscles. If your smaller supporting muscles are weak, your larger muscles won't grow. Weight training is needed only to stimulate growth. After that, your body needs rest and food to build the muscle Improper diet and over training are two reasons why most people never get beyond an average physique. Working out, and dieting on an inconsistent basis will not bring a significant increase in size. You have to be consistent. Everyone here at freetrainers will tell you these same things. Just read the boards. They are filled with this exact same advice. And freetrainers is FREE.

He gives you a way to have your diet created for you. Well, so do several other FREE sites. His program tells how what to eat, how much to eat, and when to eat it. So do several other FREE sites. He has already created for you a step-by-step training program. So have several other FREE sites. Every single one of the “techniques” he says he gives you can be found right here at freetrainers and many other free sites.

Back to that strong word “incredible” that I promised to explain. This entire page is saying exactly what everyone here at FT says. However, the page plays on your emotions in a very smooth marketing scheme. Strong descriptive words like incredible, shock, etc combined with the occasional bold type underlined text get your attention. Then he shows you sympathy. I was where you are. I understand how you feel. Then he gets you to have sympathy for him. I couldn’t play sports. I was made fun of. I was a premature baby. I had to take martial arts to defend myself against bigger kids. Then he gives you hope. I’m more confident now. All aspects of my life have improved. Then he gets serious. This is not a fad. If you don’t believe me, look what all of these people said about my program. Too bad those people are all anonymous so you don’t know if they are real or not. Then he guarantee’s his program! Yes. If you are not happy, I will give your money back! Lastly, is the personal touch. His hand written signature.

My final thoughts? (No this isn’t Jenny Springer)

He has taken the tried and true solid advice that any knowledgeable personal training/nutritionist would give you and surrounded it with a load of marketing techniques that can be learned in any 1st year college marketing course in an attempt to pull people in for a profit. MOST people will NOT gain 32lbs lean body mass in 12 weeks with no help of substances on ANY gram. He might have. He is not the majority. The average person will get just as good of results by saving the money they would have spent on his program and just doing it on their own by using all of the advice that is exactly the same but FREE.

Anthony Ellis is another product of the BFL program. I honestly think that is possible to achieve these results. It is unfortunate that people are always down on themselves and are so negative. If a person REALLY believes that he can make extraordinary gains in a certain amount of time, then good for him. When we embark on a weigh training program, we start out with a dream, a vision. Somewhere along that line, this vision seems to fade away and people become complacent with what they are doing. They lose touch with there body and mind. But, if somebody can beleive so deepley that they can achieve amazing things, then you know what, they just might do that. People walk around with such a defeatist attitude, it is sad. When they see somebody reaching there weight training goals faster then they are, these people think "He has to be using steroids" It's unfortunate, but this is what happens. NEVER underestimate the power of a strong will and strong spirit. These are more powerful and anabolic than any steroid or supplement will ever be.

Its great to have dreams, but you still have to have a touch of reality. Since you mentioned BFL, I will quote Bill Phillips....

"You should set goals that are ambitious yet attainable. You might not know where the limit is, especially if you're getting into an area where you don't have a lot of experience or knowledge. So here's a tip on how to set your goals: Find an example -- someone who has accomplished what you want to accomplish -- and set your goals based on that. If you want to lose fat and get in great shape (notice it's still a dream -- no specifics or deadline yet), find someone who was in your present condition, or thereabouts, and take a look at what he or she was able to achieve."

I would recommend you find a tangible example. Someone you know or is available to answer your questions and guide you. If you set your goals too high, you will get discouraged when you don't meet them causing you to burn or hurt yourself, or just quit. A little at a time, none of this is fast or easy....

I personally think, if it was too easy to make muscle in 12 weeks, half of US would be like that. Building a body takes effort, time and most important discipline. It is a long-term process. I want to have a body like Madonna, but I know that she has been training for 10 years and I have to train for at least 8-10 years to have something similar... even a year is a very short time to get in shape, however this should not discourage a person.
I think one of the problems is, we don't accept our body's limitations. I learned to accept that with yoga... of course passion to do something, and great willingness is a major key to be disciplined and goal oriented. however, rushing to your goal, and trying to find magic solutions 99% of the time will discourage you more.
of course this is all my personal opinion. I never believed in magic recipes and I always follow the long route.

Actually, I think that people don't realize what there bodies are capable of, once again, that defeatisit attitude. It's funny, the results I have obtained in the past few months have propelled me past guys who have been training for years because I got the notion out of my head that I am not genetically gifted, so I won't make great gains. I am no genetic freak, and I don't use anything illegal. But guess what, I expect nothing less than ALL out effort EVERY time I step into the gym. Couple that with my desire, extreme discipline and will to be the best I can be, you have a potent combo. I don't sit there and dwell on my bodies limitations, because as far as I am concerned, the only limitations I place on myself will be my own defeat. Now, I tend to take a hrdline stance on this subject because I cannot stand to hear people always doggin themselves and crying and whining that they can't make gains or look like they want to look. But when you ask how there diet is, or if they have changed there routine or lifted heavier weights, they look at me like I am speaking to them in Swahele. Now, I apologize if this sounds harsh, but these are deep personal beleifs that I hold and I wish people would just open there mind to the most awesome piece of machinery on this earth: The Human Body.

I think the point is being missed. I as well believe that a person can do anything they set their mind to. It takes optimism, will power, and effort. When I got to the gym I give 200%. When it comes to sticking to my meal plans, I give 200%. I believe with all of my mind, body, and soul that I WILL accomplish my goals.

However, I'm not so naive and uninformed to go around giving my money to someone who is going to tell me the exact same thing I can be told for free elsewhere. ANYONE can accomplish whatever goals they have without giving their money to Anthony Ellis or anyone else like him. If a person wants to donate some money to help a cause they think is worthwhile, that is one thing. His program is nothing more than a smooth marketing technique being used to gain a profit from people by taking advantage of their ignorance, hopes, and dreams. More power to him. This is a free country, and people have gained a profit off of much worse actions.

He may have gained the muscle in the time he says. But not everyone is the same and everyone does not get the same results from the same plan. The fact that we recognize what he is doing and point out inconsistencies and denouce it, has nothing to do with our attitude about our own selves. I do not believe Mr. Ellis's claims myself. But I DO believe that *I* will accomplish my own goals that I set for myself using the program I designed specifically for myself based on my own body type, history, medical profile, needs, and goals.

dahayz you know what I think about your knowledge and you level of training. But you bring proof that a person, can gain 32 lb of lean muscle in 12 weeks, or better yet get the guy fron that website that claims to have gotten 27lbs of mcuscle in 4 weeks that is 7 lbs a week not possible. I know that if you set you mind to something you can get almost anything done, but even witha perfect diet and aggressive workout program those claims are hard if not totaly unbelieveable. I did not say he used drugs, I said that even with using them it would be hard to see that kind of growth. So I am asking show us medical proof that his claims are possible....Still you had a great response buddy keep it up!

Thanks mutt, it is always good to have these types of discussions. We all keep it intelligent while getting our point across and that is why this board is so great.
