I have heard repeatedly to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day..but why? I thought that when you are trying to lose weight, the whole point is to eat less and exercise more. I hope that someone can give me the right advice that I need to get on the right track to lose weight.
Ok the main problem with "diets" is that they starve the body (eat less workoutmore). When that happens, the body has to get energy from somehwere, it goes for the easiest to break down tissue in this case muscle. Now fat takes up more room in the body than muscle, but muscle weighs more. Also the more muscle you have the faster you burn fat off. So the goal is to build muscle and loose the fat. How? Well you workout do some cardio and eat. Yup I said ti eat, now we when we say 5-6 meals are not talking about a full 7 course meal. Instead it is small nutrition dense meals made up of protein carbs and fats. BBfit1 one of the moderators here is great at helping on the diet thing. You need to eat to loose. Again we are not talking about 4000cals a day unless you are a pro bodybuilder. No more like 1800-2000 depending on your goals. Hope this helped out.
