Yesterday, I started my new fitness and nutrition plans. I have had no sugar, no caffiene, and very little fat since Sunday night. Last night I got a headache, and it has just progressively gotten worse throughout the day. I had to go to the hospital earlier today to get a shot because of the pain. Could this be because of cutting the sugar and caffiene out completely all at once? I am prone to migraines anyway, but I was wondering if this could have triggered it.

Yes if you have been taking in a good amout of the sugars and caffine cutting them out at once instead of slowly weaning off them could have cause the headaches, as well as your diet....I think from a previous post you are eating enough, but if you are also cutting cals by a lot you might want to add some cals to you diet. Hope this helps you out.

Oh yeah, I was eating a lot of sugar and caffiene. I was eating a horrible diet filled with sodas, coffee, tea, and fast food before this. I just started the new meal plans yesterday. Yesterday, I had 72 oz water and 1869 calories consisting of 240 protein, 179 carbs, and 21.5 fat. I did 30 minutes of cardio and HIIT first thing in the morning, and I had insomnia. Today I have not eaten hardly anything because of the headache making me sick to my stomach. I have yet to eat supper, but I have had 44oz water and 907 calories with 139 protein, 63 carbs and 11 fats so far as of 8pm. I skipped my exercise today also because of the headache. I do take a multi-vitamin, a C, an E, and a Flaxseed Oil each day also.
I am afraid to ease out of the sugar and caffiene. I feel like if I have a little, I will lose track and have too much, or I will say "screw it" and just eat whatever. It is a lot easier on me emotionally to just do it cold turkey.
Any idea how long a headache like this will last?

if you need caffiene you can have some (even on atkins induction phase) just do use powder creamer, use the liquid and use sacchrin or nutrasweet with it. the real problem with caffiene is it makes you crave sweets. as far as carbs you may want to try to eat some fruits (unless your doing atkins). is the amount of carbs/protein the levels you were told to try to consume, carb count sounds pretty low to me.
