I'm just getting back into working out. I've always had a high metabloism and have always had trouble putting on weight. Is there a good combination of vitamins/supplements that have worked best for any of you that have had problems gaining weight? I take whey but what else will help me put on the muscle weight and size that I'm looking for?

Thanks for any help you can give!!!

I used to be the same. Try to eat more sometimes just force it in you (not to much though) .

Get yourself proteins, I had good results with EAS Precision, but don`t use them as your main meal.

I'm ectomorphic and I too cannot put the pounds on because of a high metabolism. I'm not about to give up no way in hell but it is very bothersome. I know my changes are going to be slow and gradual now. I did put on a solid 40 pounds from whey protein. Now gaining pounds is like pulling teeth. All I can recommend is taking multivitamins, keeping a focused diet/supplements, keep cardio down to a low and weight train consistently with high intensity. You'll find ways in balancing your diet, catering to your body's need when you get more involved.

Eat to feed your muscles. That is, plenty of protein, with enough carbs to let the protein do its work, without adding extra fat. Split your meals up to 5-7 per day. If you are a hard gainer, start with around 20 calories per lb. of bodyweight. For mostly muscle gain with very little fat gain if any, make your ratio 50/20/30, P/C/F. Make your fats from good sources like flax oil, nuts, peanut butter, fish oils. Fats are very calorie dense and go a long ways toward needed calorie density. They actually help metabolize fats(burn fat), plus many other healthy functions. With this type of diet ratio, you will not put on unnecessary weight, but quality weight. (Lean tissue). Do not be impatient, gains will come, not overnight though. Eating thousands of calories will make the scale move, but not with weight that is good.
