I'm hoping some of you that have been around a while can help me with this question. First, let me tell you I am new to the site, I will make up a profile asap. A little back round on myself for now - I am 45 years old. I am currently following the added mass program to bulk up some.I weigh 235lbs and I am 6'2".My build is..I dont know exactly what its called..lol..but I am not fat, I am not thin, but I am not particularly muscular either, at least as not lets say for lack of a better word as gladiator appearing as I would like. In any case my question pertains to cross training. I would like to follow a cardio program on the days that I am not doing my abs (wensday and saturday) or my weight training (monday and thursday). This leaves basicaly tuesday, friday or sunday for riding a stationary bike with one day for rest doing nothing which I find difficult at times.. hypermotivation I guess...but I have my reasons as we all do :-) In any case I had read somewhere that doing aerobic activites and anerobic or weights may be contradictory to each other which may result in sacrificing some muscular growth for endurance. Is there any truth to this and might you have any suggestions? Thank you

Depends on how you do them, and your goals. In your case, this is not necessarily so. I would do your cardio as you state on off days from the resistance training. Your cardio training at this time should be strictly for cardo health, not too intense. Intense cardio will consume needed nutrients and calories for muscle growth. Concentrate on your resistance training. Put most emphasis into what you think your priorities are. If you want to add mass as you say, then resistance training is your priority and you should not get very intense on the cardio as previously stated. Learn your body.
