I heard that there is only so much protein yur body can use at one time and then the rest is waste.Everynight though before i go to bed i have two scoops of protein powder which comes out to consuming 50grams.Is that too much?Should i maybe scale down to 30 grams of protein before bed? Thanks for the advice.

depends on your weight and daily needs. I always have one b4 sleep. Close to competition, competitors wake up every 3hrs for a shake. If you aren't consuming your daily needs b4 bed then go for it.

There was an old school thought at one time that your body could only digest 30 gr. of protein at one time. As stated, this is very old school. You are better off if you are not on a strict diet to consume more. Sure, you may have some expensive urine at times, but at least the protein is there if needed and can be used. Better to supply it more than not enough if you can afford it. By no means give up sleep to wake and have a drink, you can do something like this. Mix up a good sized drink, throw in plenty of ice to keep it cold, and place it by your bed on the night table. If you wake up at all during the night, take a big drink. If not, it will not go bad if mixed with water. Just have it in the morning.
