Hi..I usually steam corn or peas or green beans (in addition to bake chicken or fish)for dinner. Oflate I have replaced corn with popcorn(no butter). Is this the same as eating steamed corn?(Damn...what a dumb question...but I need to know for sure)

No, but I hear popcorn is a good source of fiber.

plain popcorn, no butter, & no salt, can be a great way to control your hunger attacks. It is high fiber-make sure you drink lots of h2o w/it.

This is my downfall. I think I eat a little to much popcorn. But the stuff I eat has only 5 grams of fat for the whole bag which is pretty good. So really how bad is popcorn for us??

Lol don't look at it like that, look at the glycemic index and see how it effects the insulin on the body (79) http://www.bodyforlife2.com/tools/glycemic1.htm#top
It's always the same, everything who's light, puffy and veeeery tasty (like rice cakes!) is always not really the very best for fat loss.
I know it's not fair!! (o;

I am trying to get definition and trim the fat . I wouldn't mind gaining 5-8 pounds. (male-150lbs-5'7"). I am on(or atleast trying to be on) high protein diet.here is my meal list for a typical day.
breakfast: 2 oat meal packs (9 am)
1 protein shake (40 gms of protein)(11 am)
Lunch: Sandwich/hoagie (chicken or tuna)or salad.(12.30pm)
a power bar before I go to the gym(or during my workout) (42 gms of protein)
Dinner: 7-8 egg white omelette(with onions and olive oil) little green beans or cauliflower or spinach.
Sometimes..baked fish/chicken
..and usually on fridays or sundays..I eat pizza.
any thoughts?
thanks for your response.

Just a couple of quick things to look at. I'd add some protein with the breakfast. You can add protein powder to your cooked oats if it's easier and also some of those oatmeal packets are packed with sugar. One other thing would be check the label on your power bar as some of those are filled with sugar or other nasty words that end in 'tose.

Remember also your fat intake should not be more than 30% of your total calories. (good fat)
