At my gym, one of the guys there told me that to build more bulk rather than tone your muscles...You should do less reps and more weight. Is this true? I have been working out for about 3 months now and I usually do the pyramid style of working out. 3 sets. 10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps. I use heavy weights but not too heavy where I lose form and control. Is this a good way to bulk up?

Yes and no, if you have been doing the same thing for the last three months then you definitely need to change.
Muscle growth has not only something to do with the number of repetitions but also the fact of keep stimulating and chocking the fibres. To do that you need to vary your work out (every 6-12 weeks, depending on the person).

Why not sign up for the 12 weeks muscle mass routine?
