New to weight lifting. I know the body needs oxygen during exercise, so it is obvious that one should breath when weight lifing. What is are the "best practices" in inhaling and exhaling during weightlifting? When do you inhale and when do you exhale? THANKS!
The golden rule is to exhale when you do the negative (hard) part of the movement BUT that often that changes as well (as when doing rowing where the ribcage get expanded).
What I then advice my clients is simply to try to feel their bodies and in and exhale where they feel it the most comfortable (if they don't know they try to do the two ways and often one feels better.......)
Lol the key is NOT to think about it and then you'll do it right........ (o;
