I have a question. I am in the process of getting rid of about
25-30 pounds of fat. I do cardio in the morning, 45 minutes of stationary bike.
I lift free weights in the evening, and have noticed that I perform better with the weights when I eat before, considering I sometimes just drink a protein shake because of fear of eating to late.
My question is what can I eat safely around or just after 6 pm so I can benefit the strength but not risk the fat gains, because we all know that eating anything after six can be detrimental to any weight loss program. Thanks in advance.

Well, first off we need to dispel the myth that eating after 6 can be detrimental to weight loss. All calories are not created equal. You can and should eat good food after six if you are still up and have trained well. High protein, fibrous carbs will in no way hurt you, in fact will help by keeping your metabolism revving and building muscle you just worked to achieve. You can even eat before bed, your body does not stop digesting food just because you are in bed. In fact, quite the opposite, and will help pevent nightime catabolism.

BB1FIT,
What foods are you referring to? I'm somewhat lean, however, I want to lose the remaining fat (lower tummy) and make lean muscle gains. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.
