Here's one for the forum. 56 year old female at 19% body fat. Been training for a couple of years. Petit lady in very good shape for her age weighing only 100lbs but has flabby tricepts. She asked me for advice about a fix or if she just has to live with it. She used to be heavy and I have a feeling there is extra skin there. There is muscle definition but it is lost in the flab. She believes her body fat count is where it should be but I think she needs to get it lower before this flab will go away. (Kinda hard to tell her that) Seems like a strange place to carry body fat but she has it there. I told her about nutrition and cardio but I am interested in opinions about resistance training for her problem. Some might say high volume light weight sets, others might say lift heavy and short reps to build size to fill the gap. I personally believe she needs to add muscle anywhere she can on her body to increase her LBM and burn more calories per month. What do you all think?

Well,rkahl, your assessment seems quite the ticket. As you say, adding muscle tone anywhere on her body will only enhance her fat burning. At 19%, this is doable, she can increase her lean mass while tapping fatty acids for energy. It most probably isn't bodyfat in the tricep area,(maybe some), but loose skin. If it is loose skin there, unfortunately short of surgery, not much in the short term can be done. But with what you are recomending to her, and lots of moisturizers and time, it will get better. There is no quick fix for loose skin short of surgery.
