I did my week rest last week, and started back lifting this week. And thank God I did. Man, I really needed that. It made me remember just how much I love to lift.

Rest is good for the soul as someone once told me. It makes you eager to push yourself again. Have fun and train hard.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

I hear you...I need my rest periods, but I can't wait by the end of them to get over so I can get back in the gym. I do miss the feel of the pump so much. Gluton for punishment I guess. LOL>..

I can relate. I just took off 3 weeks because of a minor neck injury. I just started back the other day. I feel great. I'm a little sore but I love that feeling. Your body needs a break every so often. I've read in many different articles that when you hit a plateau you should take a few weeks of from lifting.
