is jogging for 1hour a day good? I would like to slim down as soon as possible but yet I dont get a good enough workout from any other cardio workout then I do with jogging. I am dating a very skinny guy now and it feels so weird that I am bigger then him... hmmm

Feed the guy more and make him get bigger. Just kidding of course. There's been a lot of discussion about how much cardio is enough/too much. Personally I find less is better (along with a super clean diet) when I'm trying to cut just a bit. There were several good discussions in the female forum recently that might interest you rather than trying to write it all out again.

First, if this is the same guy you asked about in an earlier post, way to go! Good on you for going after what you want! I've had great results with 30 mins of cardio 4-5 days a week, but I think that the fact that I lift weights is what's really doing it for me. In my opinion, a lean, toned body is better than just "skinny". Clean up your diet if you need to, otherwise you'll get nowhere. Most importantly, make lifestyle choices to improve your own health and self-esteem. Don't do it for anyone else. Good luck.

Jogging by itself will not get you where you want. You need to combine it with resistance training and diet. With diet being key, in combination you can lose weight. But, if you are a large pear now, chances are without resistance training you will become just a smaller pear. Resistance training and proper diet and you can actually mold your body into the shape you want. Really almost like clay. Add hard leaness instead of just losing weight and still being flabby.

Jogging 1hr a day?
This is a great way to lose weight w/out losing muscle mass, 800-1100 calories per hour depending on the intensity.
Just make sure you dont overdue it, always stop and stretch after a few minutes and after your warmed up. Always stay hydrated-important.
Take a day off once in awhile. Also do a few crunches and hyperextions, to keep your mid section strong. I have been running 12-20 miles a week for the last 16 yrs, It keeps me feeling strong and is compatable w/my ways of life.
