I thought this title may get some clicks. It seems there are many posts about what workout is best, how long to rest, how many days are optimal, etc. And that is why we are here. We are all looking for that “secret workout” that will make us huge, or shredded, or whatever our desires our. I don’t know if this exists. I think we are getting into the world of the rag mags with this line of thought. How about this, just use your head. Learn your body. Train instinctively. No one workout works for everyone. Once you learn the basics, never forget them! They will always serve you. You have the “X” workout, the “y” workout, etc. Put whatever fancy name on it you want, doesn’t mean it will work for you. Some can do sets of 3-5 reps and make great gains. The guy or gal next to him may do the exact same thing, and not gain anything! They may need higher rep sets for their gains. The muscle fiber makeup of everyone is different. One size does not fit all. What is a magic workout for one may be a total bust for the next. There are some basics that fit everyone. Good technique, good diet, and good attitude. Usually in the beginning stage, everyone makes fantastic gains. The more advanced we get, the harder it gets, and our gains slow down dramatically, and then ironically the more “science” we try to put into our workouts. Workouts should not have to be a doctorate. Working out is actually pretty simple. There are “super sets“, “drop sets”, “pyramid up”, “pyramid down, all kinds of fancy training training routines. When it comes down to it, they are all just variations of the basics I earlier refferd to. Train as hard and smart as you can, eat proper diet, and rest. True muscle gains come fairly slowly, and the more advanced you are, the harder it becomes. Don’t try to outsmart yourself. The best advice that can be given I think is get in tune with your body. Use your instincts. That and those 3, training, smart, proper diet, and proper rest, will get you much farther than the “secret workout”. Remember the basics. When all else fails, use them. To all, best in health.
