Hi! I signed up for some of the specialized programs through this site. This coming week I'm supposed to do military presses. I am concerned I may not be able to do this, is there an alternate? Also, I'm supposed to do donkey calf raises but I think I'd rather try the dumbell one legged calf raises. Can someone describe this exercise to me?
Thanks!

Hey..
instead you can try seated dumbbell presses or machine shoulder presses. As for the desrciption for donkey calf raises.. ft explains it for you.

For your one legged calf raises with weight, these are a great calf pumping exercise. Simply stand close to a wall, put one hand against it for support, cross your opposite ankle over the calf you are trying to work, and hold a dumbbell of your choice weight. Now raise up on your toes and back down for as many reps as youcare to do. If you choose the correct weight, and do them correctly, this shouldn't be too many. Good luck. Hope i explained this good.

Sorry for the delayed reaction! Thank you both for responding. I tried the one leg raises but it still didn't feel completely right. For some reason, my arch always starts burning along with my calves or the burn starts running up from my calves to my hams. Someone suggested doing lunges and squats for building calves. I am going to stick with those for now unless someone can help me figure out what the hell I'm doing wrong..

Good luck with them, but I don't think lunges or squats will target the calves. They are both much more for the quads.
