Feeling less sore this week (so far). This Old House is still adjusting to a 6 day per week program. Also, still adjusting to the psychological beating of (1) using lighter weights, and (2) having it actually kick my butt. I really feel like I’m starting from square one again... I guess that’s because I am. Enjoying the constant pumped feeling throughout the day, though. Pumps at the gym are even better—-feeling completely blown up (and exhausted, too) after each set. It’s a whole new ball game when someone I respect and admire is actually in the gym watching my every move--and has agreed to point out even the most subtle indescretions in my form or execution.

I see someone is cranky if they do not get their beauty sleep! LOL

Thanks, Mutt--the skin IS looking thinner and more vascular! You’re just jealous because the retirement home where I live has a fully-equipped gym with squat racks that nobody ever uses, free calcium-enriched protein shakes (better bone health), and combination lifting chalk/denture trays. And the membership dues are taken directly from MediCare. Now leave me the hell alone, Lawrence Welk is on... Kids!

Good enough reasons. And if you are to thin skinned about your advanced age then I will stop saying that you are older than dirt, and that rocks are younger, or that if you bend over to far your brittle bones will snap. I promise no more of those ok? Good job tho...keep truckin

Yo Mutt! You couldn't resist an age comment, could you?!LOL Last week the old man was feelin his age big time. I'm doing SLDLs on back day because I'm just a rebel at heart (LOL) and because I really feel it in my entire back. I'm doing them on a platform, so I'm getting a really good stretch that I feel all through my back (and in the old manstrings, too). Plus, SLDLs on back day means I get to hit the old hammies an extra pop during the week. I'll probably change it up in a couple weeks.

Well good workout there, but why are you doing a hamstring exercise on back day? I usually do stiff legged deads on leg day. Anyway I think that you will make all your goals and then some. Just take it easy! You are not a young person any more!
