 Anatomical Glance

The calf muscle is divided into two general parts. One main part is the gastrocnemius, which is U-shaped. The function of this part is to raise your body in an upright position up by the toes. The other part is the soleus, which is below the gastrocnemius. It is used as well to raise your body, but in a position when your knees are bent.

 General Summary

The calves are a very important bodypart not to avoid or under train. Under developed calves will ruin a well developed physique. It looks very funny for an individual with a great upper body build, to have skinny calves. Well developed calves are very attractive for both men and women. Just to see if your calves are proportional to the rest of the body, they should be the same measurement as your neck and arms. It can be said that diamonds (calves) are a mans/womans best friend. In terms of people who compete, calf development must also be up to par with the rest of your body. Training calves takes determination and hard work, but is well worth it!
