Okey I need one of you smart people in here to explain me the chemical function of yeast...... (lol what a q!)

I was wondering...... Whyyyyy eating too much yeast can be bad? Yes, it's yeast in bread (but it's not the extra carbs I'm worried about). Could yeast be bad for you in any ways? I mean can it give you bloating, water retention or anything? (especially important to know for the comp prep)

I cannot really imagine eating my home made bread without yeast, but if that's necessairy well then I'll try.

Merci!!!
