i notice some people wear sweats while working out at the gym, hoodies even. is it safe? wouldnt you get over heated? does it do something for weight loss? or does it make people sweat more, which isnt supposed to help with weight loss!
i guess i could pose this about the little outfits too, should some of your body heat be retained...i just wear a light t-shirt and stretchy workout pants. but i think of these things while i am working out...LOL

The reason for the sweats for some is to shed water weight through sweat. This weight loss is not to be confused with fat loss. Water weight is easily put back on once you are no longer dehydrated. Also depending on your level of fitness the heat from sweats and vigourus excersize could be a bad combo. Another reason for sweats is also to help keep muscles warm while working out.

Some people find it very comfortable...and it hides peoples' insecurities quite well also.....

I wore sweat pants and a t-shirt to work out untill I could afford to buy gymn clothes. But at the time it was better to work out and eat right on my budget than it was to have "work out gear" on a not-so-hot body.
I sport track pants now tho, cuz it breathes more.

I sweat enough.....don't need any help there.
For the few guys.....they wear mutiply layers to "appear" bigger, I find girls for the most part wear a lil of nothing nowadays.

Alowing our bodies to cool is extremely important while training. Holding in the heat is dangerous. So the more breathable the clothing, the more are cooling system will work.
Some people do feel cold after the training, thats when the sweats fit in. Again it is also a confidence/security "thing" with some.

i've been hearing it since my childhood from elders (really elders that is) that sweating is good for skin.. cuz when u sweat the water comes out of ur skin pores cleaning them in the process and making skin feel fresh and healthy.. what do u people say?

However when the pores are open.......crap can get in the pores causing black heads, pimples etc.
Theres alota stuff around saying, sweat releases toxins and stuff from under the skin.
Personally I think sweat is just the bodies radiator......anything else, is just an "old wise tale"
