Is whey protein helpful, or is it just a waste of money? Should I include it in my diet, and should I use it before or after working out?

i would also like to know about this. Is it also helpful for losing weight or just gaining muscle?

Whey protein is very helpful. Use it after your workout. It will help you gain and retain muscle. It won't contribute to fat gain unless its loaded with sugar.
