I am about to finish the 8 week mass program. I am happy with the results, but they weren't as much as I expected. My question is where do I go next? I know a lot about lifting, and could use a switch. Should I just design my own four/five day split, or try one of the other programs mentioned? Appreciate the help.

Hey..

what kind of results did you have? expect? You do realize that a natural athlete trying to gain muscle size only gains aprox 10-15 pounds of lean muscle mass per year? So if you gained a couple of pounds that would be good progress.

I'm in my 3rd 8 week split and have progressed more than I expected. I'm not eating the recommended protein or the calories (tight budget right now) but still have good muscle gains. Don't give up on the program ncl!! Lift hard!! Arnold has good advice!! :)

Arnold,

My biggest gains were in my legs and shoulders. Granted, these were areas I had been neglecting till now. I didn't gain as much in chest, hardly anything in arms. I got a lot leaner, put on about three pounds, so I figure I lost fat weight. Thanks for the info on realistic gains.

i would recommend trying your own split for a little while, and then when you get stumped there, maybe you could try a new one. but what ever you do i think you should try a drastically different program.
