What's the diff between meal replacement

What's the difference between a meal replacement (myoplex max etc) and whey protein supplements (100% whey, nitro-tech etc.) Thanks!

So if I lift at night it would probably be better to get just a whey protein supplement to avoid carbs at night after i lift?

Actually, wolf, the carbs in most MRP's are not good. It's usually dextrose, maltodextrin or other sugar-like powdery carbs. Their presence has nothing to do with nutrition. Casein protein, present in most MRP's, is VERY bitter and requires sweetening to be palatable.
